What wasn’t working
Since 1994, Life Without Barriers has helped jobseekers give back to the community through their work. With over 7,000 professionals across Australia, the organisationorganization is a leading provider of community services including foster care and disability services.
In Australia’s Not-for-Profit sector, one in five new jobs will be in community services. Life Without Barriers had to get the right people through their doors. But an annual recruitment count of 2,200 positions across frontline, management and corporate roles presented challenges:
- High demand for skilled community carers and administrators meant fierce competition for talent;
- No consistent process to deliver great recruitment experiences for different cohorts at scale;
- Accessibility for candidates with impairments and disabilities required improvement.
The turning point
Built on client-centric service and championing opportunities for all, Life Without Barriers needed a recruitment approach that reflected these principles.
